There’s a rule in Ontario that many people don’t know about until they’re dealing with an injury claim.

When it comes to pain and suffering after a motor vehicle accident, you generally need to meet a legal threshold before you can recover compensation for these damages.

That threshold looks at more than whether you were injured. The nature of the injury, how it affects your daily life, and the evidence supporting your claim can all matter.

If you’ve been injured in a car accident and aren’t sure what the rules mean for your situation, it’s worth getting legal advice before making decisions about your claim.

Different communities. Same story.

After an accident, the insurance company may reach out quickly with what sounds like a helpful solution.

But before signing anything or accepting a settlement, make sure you understand your rights and what your claim may actually be worth.

That’s why having the right legal guidance matters.

If you’ve been injured in an accident, talk to the Findlay team before you settle. Free consultations are available: findlaylaw.ca

Behind every result is a person whose life was changed by an unexpected injury.

We’re sharing a few outcomes we’ve helped clients achieve, but every case starts the same way: by listening, understanding their circumstances, and helping them navigate what comes next.

If you or someone you know has been injured, book a free consultation through findlaylaw.ca to discuss your situation and understand your legal options.

Past results do not guarantee future outcomes. Every case is unique.

Why did Eric become a lawyer?

A lot of it started with his dad.

Watching his father spend his life helping others taught Eric something that has stayed with him throughout his career: do what you can to help, especially when someone needs an advocate in their corner.

That perspective has shaped the way he approaches personal injury law.

Because behind every claim is a person. Someone who has been through something difficult, whose life may have been turned upside down, and who needs someone to see more than just the paperwork.

Being able to help people put the pieces back together is what makes this work so meaningful to Eric.

This is Part 1 of his story.

Why Brantford?

Because we kept hearing from people in the community who needed a lawyer but didn’t know where to turn.

Some weren’t sure they could afford legal help. Others had signed insurance documents without really understanding their rights.

We wanted to change that by being here, locally, and making it easier to get answers.

Every cyclist deserves to make it home safely.

A recent fatal collision involving a cyclist on Upper Centennial Parkway is a difficult reminder of how important it is for everyone on the road to stay alert and share the road responsibly.

For drivers, that means slowing down, staying focused, and giving cyclists the space they need. For cyclists, it means following the rules of the road and making safety a priority.

At Findlay Injury & Disability Lawyers, we help people throughout Ontario understand their legal rights following serious motor vehicle and cycling accidents.

We’re proud to support Hamilton’s cycling community and encourage everyone to do their part to make our roads safer.

Ride safe. Drive safe. Look out for each other.
