Every fall we look forward to our volunteer event with students from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. MC “stepped up” this weekend as sponsors of Caleb's Superhero Walk Run FLY fundraiser for childhood cancer care made possible by the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation.

Meanwhile, our members in took part in the for the Cancer Care Foundation, which raised an extraordinary $520K for cancer care in NL. What an privilege it was to walk alongside thousands of others who fund-raised in honour of loved ones or their own cancer journeys. Thanks to them and to all the tenants of who came out to support our Polka Dot Bake Sale last week.

Big congratulations to all the walkers & runners who took part on Saturday in the Défi Everest Challenge and raised more than $162K for multiple multiple myeloma cancer research and physical education equipment for NB schools. Big thanks to our volunteers who yesterday prepared another meal at Ronald McDonald House Maritimes. They made chicken / chickpea Caesar wraps, Goldfish crackers and chocolate chunk cookies for dessert. Like a well-oiled machine, the crew of seven showed up, took charge, prepped, wrapped, labelled and delivered in record time, leaving plenty of room to take a tour of the impressive facility. What’s more like Nan’s than homemade bread and blueberry jam!? MC Volunteers had a “sweet” time on Monday baking up a storm at Ronald McDonald House NL.

At their latest engagement, members of the Labour & Employment team made a delightful spread of bread & jam, chocolate chip cookies, snowballs, banana bread, and Rice Krispie treat.

“Seeing the appreciation from residents and families made the experience especially memorable and reinforced the value of giving back to our community,” commented head baker Milly.

Many thanks to her, to her fellow chefs - Brittany, Caroline, Darren & Zaira - and to RMHNL families for welcoming us into your kitchen.
