I have a vision for tiny home communities. I have been very interested in them for a very long time. Years, for sure. There are far too many barriers to living in tiny homes in Canada. The States, Australia, New Zealand, and more countries have much easier access to tiny homes. No reason why Canadians shouldn’t have that too. So, I have been brainstorming ways to make that happen. I had an epiphany this morning. What we need is a community of progressives that want to see social change for the better for everyone. Home ownership should be attainable for all and Tiny homes are an obvious solution for many.
My vision on how we can make this happen is if we have a powerful group of thousands of people. Maybe someday millions of people. I want to organize us. I envision a so called “Human Corporation” or co-operative where decisions are made by us all. Essentially ground up democracy to point us in the right direction that will give us what we demand; Tiny homes now, and who knows what in the future? You (we) decide.
The best towns and neighborhoods in the world are walkable, with services, stores, jobs and restaurants all easily accessible from your front door. The tiny home communities I envision are ultimately walkable. The first community that we build together will no doubt take some time, and money, and convincing to make it happen. But after that first one, it will be easier. Precedence is powerful, people are powerful. When we all speak up for each other, at once, with a unifying message, tiny homes, and walkable integrated communities are what we need!
