After an injury, the impact isn’t just physical.

It affects your routine, your work, your family, and your sense of normal.

That’s the part people don’t always see.

In this video, Leah Paslawski, a member of the KMSC Injury Law Team, shares why she chose to practice injury law, and what it means to support people through moments that can feel uncertain and overwhelming.

At KMSC, that work is taken seriously. It’s not just about the claim. It’s about helping people feel supported, informed, and respected throughout the process.

If you’re thinking about your options, a free consultation is there to give you clarity, not pressure.

It’s a chance to ask questions, understand how the process works, and see if the approach feels right for you.

And if you choose to move forward, it’s done on a no-win, no-fee basis, so you can focus on your recovery without added financial stress.

After a motor vehicle accident, most people are focused on getting medical care and figuring out what comes next.

Somewhere along the way, you may hear about Section B benefits and aren’t sure if they apply to you. If you were injured in a car accident, they do.

Whether you were a driver, passenger, or pedestrian, if your injuries require treatment or you miss time from work, you are eligible for Section B benefits. These are no-fault benefits, meaning they apply regardless of who caused the accident. They can help cover medical care, rehabilitation, certain expenses related to your recovery, and in some cases, a portion of lost income.

One thing that often catches people off guard is that these benefits aren’t automatic. You have to apply for them, and if that step is missed early on, it can make things more difficult later.

If you’re unsure whether you qualify, or what the process looks like, we’ve put together a page that walks through the most common questions in plain language.

If you have questions about your situation, we’re always happy to have a conversation. KMSC Law offers free consultations with no cost and no obligation, so you can get clear answers and understand what applies to you.

Most people assume that if they’re injured in a motor vehicle accident in British Columbia, the claim will be handled through ICBC.

In many cases, that’s true. But not always.

When another driver is insured outside of BC, the claim may be handled by a different insurer, even though the accident happened in British Columbia.

On the surface, the process can look similar. You’re dealing with an insurer, receiving information about benefits, and trying to move forward.

But behind the scenes, the structure of the claim can be different. That can affect how benefits are handled, how decisions are made, and what options are available if something doesn’t feel right.

For many people travelling between Northern Alberta and communities like Fort St. John or Dawson Creek, this comes up more often than expected.

If you’re dealing with a situation that feels unclear, it may be worth understanding how your claim is actually being handled.

We’ve put together a guide that explains how these cross-border claims work and what to watch for.

Call us now for a free, no obligation consultation to answer any questions you might have and ensure your claim is being handled properly and you are receiving the benefits and compensation you deserve.

After a motor vehicle accident, the legal process can feel like one more thing to manage.

Clear communication and steady guidance can make a meaningful difference over time.

We’re grateful for this kind review from our client Jamila A.:

“I Would highly recommend KMSC Law. Owen did an exceptional job with our MVA claim. His office always kept us up to date through email and phone calls. Through the last 2 and a half years, Owen and his assistants were a pleasure to work with, and in the end things turned out quite well for us.”

If you’re unsure where to start, or just want to understand your options, we’re here to help. A conversation doesn’t commit you to anything, it just gives you clarity.

After an accident, a lot of people hesitate to speak with an injury lawyer.

Not because they don’t have questions, but because they’re unsure what a “free consultation” really means.

Some worry it means starting a lawsuit. Others worry about pressure, cost, or being pushed into a decision before they’re ready.

In reality, it’s just a conversation.

A chance to talk through what happened, ask questions, and understand where you stand. No obligation. No pressure to move forward.

At KMSC Law, consultations are free, and if you do decide to proceed, cases are handled on a no win, no fee basis. That means legal fees only apply if compensation is recovered.

We want to make sure you know your rights and have the information you need to make the best decisions for yourself and your family and it won’t cost you anything to get those answers. If you have been unsure about reaching out, give us a call today.

Injury Law 101: What Is Liability?

Liability begins as an obligation to do something, or to avoid doing something.

When that obligation isn’t met, and someone is hurt as a result, liability becomes the responsibility of the at-fault party.

In practical terms, that can mean being accountable for the injury or damage caused, including paying compensation.

If you’ve been injured, understanding how liability applies to your situation can help you make sense of what comes next.

If you’re unsure, we’re here to help you talk it through.
