Alberta land titles bumped fees effective today October 1, 2026.

The good news: it is nowhere as bad as October 2024 when registration fees more than doubled, easily adding hundreds of dollars in fees to the Government coffers for most transactions (especially purchases).

The bad news: we are all getting nickled and dimed for a service that frankly hasn't gotten better for customers.

While the fee increases were pretty small across the board (for example land title searches are now $15 instead of $10), those costs will inevitably be passed on.

More significant changes are coming at the end of the year to land titles.

One thing that hasn't changed is that I will see real estate clients in the evening if it works better for you (high five also included at no additional charge).

Always happy to help people with their real estate matters if I am awake (I was going to say 24/7 because it sounds cool, but that's not really true as we all have to sleep).

Let the games begin. Day 1 of 3 of the Corporate challenge. Best of luck to the other participants raising funds for local charities. Hi-Tech brought a team of chickens with KFC and the Colonel, the Side Group looked good recreating Ted Lasso, Neil & Associates hosted with a Jeopardy theme, we did prom, Fletcher Mudryk took it to the beach and Westland Insurance made sure the Price was right.

Our GP team is looking ready for Prom tonight as they take part in the trivia challenge at this year’s Corporate Challenge!

Fake A.I. legal citations are on the rise in courts and tribunals across the country.

The issue recently drew national attention when a Canadian tribunal ordered a lawyer to pay $31,150 in costs after submitting court materials containing AI-fabricated case citations - the largest costs award of its kind issued by a Canadian court or tribunal to date.
