There are a number of unique words when it comes to the law. One of my favorites is Tortfeasor, meaning one who commits a tort. A tort being a civil wrong. Meaning as opposed to a crime, which is a public wrong, a tort is a private wrong. I had a friend once try to tell me that the word Tortfeasor isn't used anymore. Now we don't go screaming tortfeasor at every defendant in a civil action, mostly because it would be uncivil, but the phrase does still come up in the legal world from time to time.

Today, December 29th is the 5th Day of Christmas, which of course is associated with "five golden rings". On the topic of rings, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and all other works written and published during the lifetime of J.R.R. Tolkien would have entered the public domain on January 1st in Canada. However, Canadian copyright laws were updated earlier this year to extend copyright protection from the author's death plus 50 years, to the author's death plus 70 years. So anyone who was looking to profit off their Hobbit fan fiction will have to wait a little while longer. The Simarillion and other books edited by his son Christopher Tolkien will enter the public domain in 2091.

Based on current files I have seen, it now appears that the delay at the Landlord Tenant Board has reached almost 11 months between the submission of an application and the hearing date set by the LTB. This is why it is extremally important to file with the LTB as soon as possible.
