Hi, I’m Erin Lane, a licensed paralegal and private investigator, and the founder of Lane Paralegal.

I grew up in Niagara, spent time living in Toronto, and now call Fort Erie home. I’ve worked in the legal field for more than 20 years, with experience spanning small claims court, human rights and administrative tribunal matters, and public-sector legal work.

My combined background gives me a practical, detail-focused perspective when reviewing a file. I look at the information carefully, ask questions, and help clients understand their options and next steps.

Lane Paralegal is putting together a free community workshop series in Fort Erie, with 4–6 sessions planned between now and June 2027. I’d love to hear what topics people would find useful so the sessions reflect what our community actually wants to learn about.

What everyday legal or workplace topics would you be interested in? For example, workplace rights, human rights, small claims, unpaid invoices, or navigating a tribunal—or something else?

I’m exploring the local library as a possible venue, but I’m open to suggestions for other accessible locations. I’d also love to know what works better for you: a weeknight from 6–8 p.m. or a Saturday.
