She attended the University of Calgary where she received her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Political Studies in 2010, completing her Honours Thesis entitled “Harper’s Conservatives & Youth Crime: The Plan, The Delay, The Dialogue.” She completed additional course work at the University of Calgary towards a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society in 2010 – 2011. Thereafter, she attended the Col

lege of Law at the University of Calgary, graduating with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree in 2014. Kathryn worked as a summer student at Trobert Law Firm in 2012 and 2013 and returned to Trobert Law in June 2014 for her articles. In May 2015, Kathryn was the recipient of the 2015 Articling Student Proficiency Award, sponsored by the Saskatchewan Provincial Court Judges Association. She was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar on June 2, 2015. In March 2020, Kathryn returned from maternity leave to partner with James, forming Trobert Gilliss Law Firm. Kathryn’s primary areas of general practice include: criminal defence, civil litigation, real estate, wills and estates, employment law, family law and corporate / commercial. She has appeared before the Provincial Courts of Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta, and the Saskatchewan Court of Queen’s Bench. Away from the office, Kathryn is a member of many local boards and committees, including: Public Outreach Director for the Canadian Bar Association Saskatchewan Branch, Chair of the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum, Volunteer Lawyer with Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan, and President of the Southeast Bar Association. In 2019, Kathryn also managed the Conservative Party’s federal election campaign in Souris - Moose Mountain. During her downtime, Kathryn is a Skate Canada certified Skating Judge and Technical Specialist, travelling to various skating competitions within the province each year. Kathryn and her husband, Dylan, enjoy travelling and spending time with family and friends. In 2019, Dylan and Kathryn welcomed their daughter, Zella, and continue to enjoy their time as a young family.
