Many legal issues become harder and often more expensive to resolve once important decisions have already been made.

Speaking with a lawyer early can help preserve options and reduce risk across estate planning, real estate transactions, and business matters.

Seeking advice before documents are signed or deadlines pass can make a meaningful difference.

In 2026, our focus isn’t on doing more, it’s on doing the right work, the right way.

At Bosecke LLP, we’ll continue to provide practical, straightforward legal advice while building a firm grounded in clarity, consistency, and long-term relationships. Clear, proactive communication remains central to how we practice. We believe clients should understand not only what is happening on their file, but why it matters, and we’re committed to setting realistic expectations every step of the way.

Our practice will continue to focus on wills and estates, real estate, and corporate/commercial work. By staying focused on these core areas, we’re able to offer deeper experience and better advice, rather than being stretched thin trying to cover everything. We’re also expanding our education-driven resources, sharing practical insights that help clients make informed decisions earlier, before issues become urgent or costly.

We value collaboration and work closely with accountants, financial advisors, realtors, and other professionals to ensure advice is coordinated and practical. Just as important, our clients can expect consistency and continuity. The same people, the same judgment, and the same level of care, supported by systems designed to keep us efficient and responsive.

We’re grateful for the trust our clients place in us, and we look forward to supporting individuals, families, and business owners throughout Alberta in 2026.

Happy New Year!

Meet Today's "Paw-fessional" Visitor!

We had a very special guest in the office today. Introducing Mitthu, the much-loved four-legged friend of one of our team members.

Nothing boosts morale quite like a furry friend reminding us to take a breath, enjoy the moment, and maybe sneak in a quick head scratch between files.

At Bosecke LLP, we’re committed to creating a warm, welcoming environment for both our clients and our team and visits like this make our day just a little brighter.

If you need assistance with real estate, corporate matters, estates, or anything in between, our (human) team is always here to help.

What Happens When A Loved One Passes Away? Part 1: Probate vs. Administration

When someone passes away in Alberta, their estate often needs to go through a court process before assets can be transferred. This process is called a Grant of Probate if there is a valid will, or a Grant of Administration if there is no will.

Both processes provide the legal authority needed to access accounts, manage property, pay debts, and distribute assets properly.

We’ve outlined the key differences and when each applies.

Title Insurance vs. Real Property Reports: What’s the Difference?

Buying or selling a home in Alberta? You’ll hear two terms come up often: Real Property Report (RPR) and Title Insurance.

They serve very different purposes, and knowing how they work can help you avoid delays, surprises, and extra costs on closing day.

RPR: A survey showing your property’s structures, boundaries, and whether everything complies with municipal bylaws.

Title Insurance: An insurance policy that protects you from issues like title defects, fraud, zoning problems, or undiscovered encroachments.

Both can play an important role in a real estate transaction, but they’re used for different reasons, and in some cases, you may need both.

We’ve broken down the differences, when each applies, and how to know what’s right for your deal.
