Do you really need legal advice?⁠

Not everyone does. Some matters are quite straightforward and don't require it. Both parties fully understand the implications of signing off on a legally binding agreement without it. ⁠
⁠
The important distinction is that you do understand when you are into entering into a process where you do not have legal advice, and that you are signing a legally binding agreement having never received it. ⁠
⁠
Make sure you understand what the role of any professional is in your process. Is it to neutrally facilitate a discussion? Is it to consider evidence and make a decision? Is it to zealously advocate for your interests alone?
