Last Saturday, with less than 48 hours’ notice, we made the difficult decision to change venues due to the weather forecast. Many thought the rain would slow us down, but at Yakap Alberta Foundation, we believe that nothing can stop a community that comes together with purpose.

Not the rain. Not the challenges. Not the last-minute changes.

Our goal has always been simple: to create a space where our community can celebrate, connect, and share our culture together. Thanks to the incredible support of our volunteers, sponsors, vendors, performers, and attendees, the 128th Philippine Independence Day Celebration was a success.

Due to the weather forecast and in the interest of everyone’s safety and comfort, the 128th Philippine Independence Day Festival 2026 will be moved to an indoor venue.

The good news is that all scheduled activities, cultural performances, vendors, exhibitors, food trucks, and entertainment will continue as planned. We have secured both the Grand Ballroom and outdoor parking lot areas to ensure a fun and enjoyable celebration regardless of the weather.
