Many temporary residents were waiting for a new TR to PR pathway in 2026.

That’s not what IRCC announced.

Instead, they are fast-tracking applications already in process, leaving many without new options.

If you’re unsure what this means for you, don’t wait and hope. Build a strategy.

Canada’s 2026 TR to PR update promises faster permanent residence processing for 33,000 workers—but it is not a new pathway. This article explains what Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada actually announced, who benefits, and why many temporary residents remain without new options.

Based on recent public remarks by the Immigration Minister, the focus appears to be on individuals who are already in Canada, already working, and already contributing to their communities.

The program is expected to include 33,000 spots over two years, with a strong regional focus outside major metropolitan areas.

Full details are not yet released, but this is an important signal for many temporary residents currently in Canada.

If you are working in Canada, this may become a relevant pathway for you. Now is a good time to start preparing your documents and understanding your options.

Canada will host matches during the FIFA World Cup 2026, and thousands of international visitors are expected to travel during this period.

If you are planning to come to Canada, your immigration preparation is just as important as your match tickets.

Many travellers will require a visitor visa or eTA. Others may face delays due to incomplete applications, weak documentation, or previous refusals. In some cases, even individuals with approved visas may face issues at the port of entry if they are not properly prepared.

We have published a comprehensive handbook explaining:

– Who needs a visa or eTA
– How to apply properly
– Processing time considerations
– What to prepare for the port of entry
– Common mistakes that lead to refusals
– Important rules about working or volunteering as a visitor
– How to handle previous refusals or complex cases

Read the full guide here:

If you are planning your trip, this is the right time to act. Processing times can vary, and delays are expected closer to the event.

We are currently offering a limited promotion for FIFA 2026 travellers:

Use code FIFA2026 to receive 10% off your initial consultation and 10% off our professional service fees.

Canada will welcome thousands of visitors during FIFA World Cup 2026. If you plan to attend matches, your immigration strategy matters. This handbook explains visa requirements, entry rules, refusal risks, and how to prepare properly to avoid delays or problems.

You may already be a Canadian citizen… and not even know it.

Many people assume that because they were born outside Canada, they are not eligible for Canadian citizenship.

In many cases, that is simply not true.

Recent changes to Canada’s citizenship laws, along with past corrections to “lost Canadian” cases, mean that many individuals may already qualify for citizenship by descent — even if they were previously told they were not eligible.

We recently assisted two sisters from Mexico who had never lived in Canada. They believed they had no pathway. After a proper assessment, we confirmed their eligibility and submitted their applications. Within a few months, both received their Canadian Citizenship Certificates.

This is not about immigration.

This is about confirming a status that may already belong to you.

If you have a Canadian parent or family connection, it is worth taking a second look.

Book a consultation with our team, and we will assess your eligibility and provide a clear strategy tailored to your situation.

Many people assume they are not Canadian if they were born outside Canada. That assumption may be wrong. Recent legal changes mean you could already be a Canadian citizen without knowing it.

Canada is planning changes to the selection process for Express Entry candidates.

These are not final yet, but the direction is clear. The system is moving beyond just CRS scores toward more targeted selection based on labour market needs, occupations, and economic priorities.

There is also a lot of confusion online about whether programs like the Federal Skilled Worker Program or Canadian Experience Class will be removed. According to official information from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, these changes are still in the proposal and consultation stages.

In this article, I explain what is actually confirmed, what remains uncertain, and what these proposed changes could realistically mean for your immigration plans.

Canada has officially enacted Bill C-12, introducing some of the most important changes to the immigration and refugee system in recent years.

One of the key shifts is in refugee claims, including new timing rules that may affect who can access the Immigration and Refugee Board.

This is not about whether protection exists; it’s about how and when you can access it.

If you are in Canada or planning your next step, understanding these changes is critical.
