National Day for Truth and Reconciliation:
Across Nova Scotia, communities gather on September 30 to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. These events provide public spaces for education, cultural sharing, and honouring the survivors of the residential school system and the children who never returned home.

The day is followed immediately by Treaty Day on October 1, which marks the official start of Mi’kmaw History Month throughout the province.

A fabulous resource we have found is the 4 Seasons of Reconciliation which provides the foundational knowledge on the relationship between Canada, Indigenous Peoples, and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC). It promotes a renewed relationship between Indigenous Peoples and Canadians through transformative learning about truth and reconciliation.
Developed by the First Nations University of Canada and Reconciliation Canada, BDC is proud to offer this course to you for free. https://lnkd.in/ePbxdPy5
