The 2026 RE/MAX Canada Commercial Market Overview is out, and the overall message is pretty clear: Canada’s commercial market is stabilizing, but opportunity is not spread evenly across every property type.

Investors are becoming more active again, but they are being selective. The focus is shifting toward durable cash flow, strong locations and assets with resilient demand.

A few points that stood out to me:

Office demand is strongest in high-quality, amenity-rich space
Older office inventory may need to reposition or convert
Retail is performing better than many expected, especially grocery-anchored and service-oriented space
Industrial is still durable, particularly small-bay and flexible space
Halifax was named as one of the leading retail markets💜.

The takeaway is not “the market is good” or “the market is bad.” The real question is: where is your space positioned, and does it match what the market wants now?

Today is World Environment Day 🌍

It is a nice reminder that we do not need to do everything perfectly to make a difference. Small choices made consistently can go a long way, especially when lots of people are trying to do a little better.
