Newfoundland and Labrador is asking the Canadian federal government to double the province's allocation of immigrants who can settle there through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
The Minister of Immigration of this province, Mr. Gary Byrne, told the Saltwire network: "We are changing the projected population decline, but we need the federal government to comply with our request." Population growth will not hinder our proper functioning.
Mr. Gary Byrne wants the central government to increase Newfoundland and Labrador's immigration share from 1,593 to 3,050.
