Please be advised that Third Street Law has temporarily suspended in-office operations. Our physical office is open by appointment only. Please use alternate means to deliver items to our office (i.e. send documents by regular mail or email). We also have a secure mailbox by our front door which remains available for document drop off. We will maintain our accessibility through email and telephone, with reduced hours. Faxes and voicemails will be checked periodically. For a quicker response, please email us.

We are accepting new clients and continue to assist clients with their Family Law issues, with a focus on mediation and negotiated Agreements.

Please note that non-urgent Family Law court attendances in the Superior Court of Justice currently scheduled for the upcoming weeks will be adjourned to alternate dates in the future. We are advised that the Superior Court of Justice will not be dealing with non-urgent matters or resuming in-person court appearances until after July 6, 2020. We are currently monitoring the situation and will update our clients as more information becomes available to us. You can find the latest information at this link:

Please be advised that as of Tuesday, March 17, 2020, the Superior Court of Justice (SCJ) is suspending all regular operations until further notice.

With some limited exceptions, all family matters scheduled to be heard on or after Tuesday March 17, 2020 are adjourned. The Court will continue to hear urgent matters during this emergency period. Examples of urgent family court matters are as follows:

- requests for urgent relief relating to the safety of a child or parent (e.g., a restraining order, other restrictions on contact between the parties or a party and a child, or exclusive possession of the home);

- urgent issues that must be determined relating to the well-being of a child including essential medical decisions or issues relating to the wrongful removal or retention of a child;

- dire issues regarding the parties’ financial circumstances including for example the need for a non-depletion order;

- in a child protection case, all urgent or statutorily mandated events including the initial hearing after a child has been brought to a place of safety, and any other urgent motions or hearings.

We do not know how long the suspension will last. If your matter is scheduled to be heard during the next eight weeks, it will be adjourned and you will be assigned a new date. However, we do not know when we will receive notice of adjournment dates. We ask for your patience during this period.

Please contact our office directly if you have any questions.
