Ottawa gives hope to Applicants who were unsuccessful in the Application For 2020 Parents and Grandparents Program.
Applicants who were not selected in the 2020 Parents and Grand Parents lottery programs (PGP). May have another opportunity to try again within a short period. The Government of Canada is planning to Accept more candidates under the Parents and Grand Parents Program for the 2021 lottery draw which comes up soon.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada hopes to admit about 30,000 candidates under the Parental and Grand Parents program in 2021. To attain its goal, IRCC will conduct a new interest to sponsor process. IRCC promises to post further information and guidelines on the proposed program will be made available to the public once it is available.
News about the increase in the number of the applications to be accepted from 10,000 to 30,000 is already generating excitement and hope for applicants particularly those who were unsuccessful in the last lottery draw.
ANYONE WISHING TO SPONSOR A PARENT OR GRAND PARENT MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
• be 18 years old.
• Must live in Canada.
• be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or be a person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act, and.
• be capable to support the sponsored applicant financially .
Due to the impact of the Covid – 19, the income requirement was lowered for applicants in 2020 some hope that Canada will maintain the same requirement for 2021 cognizant of the slow recovery.
