Our team is growing!!
We would like to introduce our newest team member, Ann Pham.

Ann is licensed to practice law in both New York (USA) and Alberta (Canada), and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). Ann concentrates on U.S. business immigration matters, and has extensive experience with intracompany transfers. She also has experience with TN, O-1, E-2, and H-1B classifications, among others.

Ann obtained her law degree from New York Law School in the 2-Year J.D. Honors Program, where she was selected as the Commencement Speaker for her graduating class. Ann also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies from the University of Calgary, Co-Operative Education Program.

Prior to joining Zemp Law Group, Ann contributed her skills to one of the Big Four accounting firms as a Manager, Associate Attorney/Foreign Legal Consultant in their immigration practice. She also worked at a boutique immigration law firm located on Wall Street in New York City before returning to Calgary.

Ann was born and raised in Calgary, and enjoys travelling, hiking, and photography in her spare time.

On February 8, 2021, Canada launches the Hong Kong Pathway that will attract recent graduates and skilled workers with faster permanent residency. Hong Kong residents who have graduated with a Canadian post-secondary diploma (a minimum of 2 years) or degree in the last 5 years, or hold an equivalent foreign credential, will be able to apply for new open work permits valid for up to three years. These permits will allow Hong Kong residents to gain valuable employment experience, apply for Canadian Permanent Residency faster, and make significant contributions to Canada.

Are you an international student who has been affected by while in Canada and hold or held a PGWP? If so, you will now have the opportunity to apply for another open work permit.

Minister Mendicino announced that as of January 27, 2021, foreign nationals in Canada with an expired or expiring PGWP will have a unique chance to apply for another open work permit. These will be valid for 18 months and allow former international students to remain in Canada, continue to seek employment, and build their future in this country.
