So incredibly sad! Don’t drink and drive! And no cannabis or other intoxicant either. Have a designated driver drive you, take an Uber, take a cab, take a bus, walk or stay home!
TRIBUTE TUESDAY - GREGORY JAMES GOULDING
March 6, 1994 ~ October 18, 2015
Gregory James Goulding was born in Halifax on March 6th, 1994. He was the only son of Larry and Marion and brother to Tracy and Sara.
Gregory grew up in Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia. He was a blonde-haired, blue-eyed boy whose mischievous smile could light up a room. Tormenting his sisters was high on his list of favourite things when he was young.
In his earlier years, Gregory spent his summers and every weekend he could at his grandparents’ home. Those visits formed much of the person he grew up to be. He loved to bike all over town with his sisters, explore various trails and paths…the beginning of his “let’s go on an adventure”. Gregory would run or bike to the store and bring back a treat for his Nan. He idolized his grandfather and nothing tasted better than two handfuls of “Grampie’s cookies”.
Gregory graduated from Lockview High School in June 2012, having driven to school each day in his 1994 Jeep which he restored and worked on daily. He was mechanically inclined, changing his jeep from automatic to standard transmission by himself, after being told that would be impossible to do. It was on that jeep that he first learned to weld and after high school he attended NSCC Akerley Campus and graduated in the welding program in 2014. He was on his way to a bright and successful future; the more challenging the welding job the happier he was.
Gregory had an amazing group of lifelong friends, most of these friendships began in pre-school and primary school.
On October 18, 2015, Gregory died as a backseat passenger in his own car, one of those childhood friends was the driver, and speed and alcohol were a factor. His girlfriend, Miranda was seriously injured, another young lady also died, and the driver walked away. The collision happened about 3 miles from home. Our lives are forever changed, our hearts are broken.
Gregory’s quiet nature was often mistaken as being very shy…it wasn’t until during and after his Celebration of Life that we realized how many people our son/brother knew and sought out for various reasons. He was well known, well respected and loved. Gregory, you are in our hearts and thoughts, always and forever, love Mom, Dad, Tracy and Sara.
