Tomorrow (Wednesday) April 22nd at 10:00 am MST, I'll be doing a second webinar on how COVID-19 is affecting Canadian immigration. The webinar will happen through YouTube live stream on the Weninger Zhang Office YouTube channel. The first webinar in the series happened last week and was well attended and well received.

This week, I'll be discussing humanitarian and compassionate grounds applications and temporary resident permit applications. These applications can potentially allow people to obtain temporary or permanent immigration status even if they don't otherwise meet the requirements of Canada's various immigration streams.

My plan is to make these webinars a weekly event. I'll be including updates from the previous week and will answer some viewer questions. In case you miss a webinar and want to watch it later, the video will be posted on the Weninger Zhang Office YouTube channel.

Here's a slightly edited video of last week's webinar.

Immigration lawyer, Mark Holthe, wrote this article about the entitlement of foreign workers to EI. This is important information for laid-off foreign workers.

COVID-19 has had an unprecedented impact on life as we know it in Canada and around the world.  Our social life, families, businesses, and ability to travel have been severely impacted. However, few things can compare to the uncertainty and stress COVID-19 has caused to temporary foreign workers in...

The Canadian government took way too long in providing Mr. Utah the opportunity for a hearing. Though I'm not involved in his law suit, I hope he's successful.

Stevan Utah believes officials didn’t take him seriously because he was a white asylum claimant from a developed nation. He is now suing for more than $2.5M

My client, Stevan Utah, is a courageous man and as tough as they come. For years he worked undercover, infiltrating one of the most dangerous motorcycle gangs in the world. Now he is taking on Australian law enforcement in the hopes of making Australia a safer place to live. While Australia is in many respects a safe country and a flourishing democracy, the presence of violent gangs and the criminal infiltration of Australian police forces have been ongoing problems.

A Canadian lawyer warns police informants could end up dead after his client became the first known refugee from Australia on the grounds local authorities accidentally blew his cover.

The truth is stranger than fiction.

The truth is stranger than fiction.
