As a family lawyer, the most often asked questions are, “How much is my divorce or separation going to cost me? What is your retainer and what is your hourly rate?”. A lot of cost depends on the behaviour of the client, but it would be fair to say that experience counts. Chances are the more experience a lawyer has generally means that they are better equipped to resolve legal issues quickly.

For more than two decades, Kathleen has guided individuals and families through some of life's most challenging transitions with integrity, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Her expertise in complex family law matters, including high-net-worth property division, has earned her the trust of clients and colleagues alike. Originally from Lethbridge and now proudly calling Calgary home, Kathleen's commitment to helping families navigate difficult decisions has made a lasting impact on countless lives across Alberta. Looking ahead, 2027 will mark another significant milestone as Kathleen celebrates 10 years as the founder and owner of Wells Family Law. Since establishing the firm in 2017, she has built a practice rooted in excellence, client care, and strong advocacy in family law. When she's not advocating for her clients, Kathleen enjoys cycling, cross-country skiing, hiking in the mountains, travelling—often by bicycle through Europe—with her husband Rick, and spending time with their two beloved rescue cats. The national engagement process that will help inform Canada's first Men and Boys' Health Strategy has now been completed.

The input gathered over the past several months will play a vital role in improving the lives of men and boys for generations to come, building stronger families, vibrant communities, and a resilient, productive economy.

Kenton Boston, President & Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Men's Health Foundation, shared the following in today’s release from Health Canada:

"The completion of this consultation process marks an important milestone in recognizing the unique health challenges facing men and boys across Canada. We commend the Minister and her team for engaging Canadians, health experts, community organizations, and people with lived experience in shaping what we hope will become a meaningful and lasting strategy.

The Canadian Men's Health Foundation looks forward to continuing to work with the Government of Canada and partners across the country to ensure the final strategy leads to measurable improvements in the physical and mental health of men and boys, resulting in stronger families and healthier communities.
