Thanksgiving is, without question, my favourite holiday weekend.
A weekend of simply sharing time, meals, drinks, walks, fires, and laughs with family. Some things evolve over the years, like our growing family, while other things stay wonderfully the same.
As I look around the dinner table, the living room or the firepit, I’m reminded of just how fortunate I am. There’s something special about being truly present in those moments, taking it all in and feeling grateful for everyone around me.
I’ve been incredibly fortunate in this life. Blessed with the family I grew up in and the wonderful friends I’ve come to call family along the way.
Through the ups and downs, the successes and failures, we’ve always been there for one another. Offering support, love, advice, a little push when needed, a hand up when things get tough, or sometimes just the gift of good company.
The people around me are such a big part of any success I’ve had in life. And the older I get, the more I realize that the time I get to spend with them is my true currency.
Perhaps one of the greatest gifts of all is knowing that this beautiful, diverse, well-rounded and tight-knit crew is the very same group of people my little boy gets to grow up surrounded by. That means more to me than I can put into words.
And then there’s my boy. The little human who has brought an entirely new level of joy, love, and purpose into my life. I’m endlessly grateful for his health, his love, his personality and the little person he’s becoming. Watching him grow, laugh, learn, and build his own connections with all of my favourite people is something I’ll never take for granted.
Life is good. Not because it’s perfect, but because of the people I get to share it with.
I hope this Thanksgiving gave you that same gift. Time to slow down, share a meal, enjoy a laugh, sit around a fire, and spend a few moments appreciating the people who make your life what it is.
Much love to everyone. Happy Thanksgiving!
