A few years ago, I made a mistake that still makes me want to throw my phone across the room.

I was going through my old client list (the ones who swore they’d “be ready in a few months”) and realized just how much business I had let slip away.

$56,000 in commission. Just… gone.😬

Not because I wasn’t good at my job. But because I didn’t follow up at the right time.

Real estate is wild.

People talk a big game about buying, and then life happens.

They sign another lease.

They “pause” their home search.

They say “check back in a few months” and then promptly forget you exist.

And if you’re not the first agent in their inbox when they’re ready again, someone else will be.

I used to think I could just remember who to follow up with. (lol I could not.)

Like the buyer who told me they were signing another one-year lease.

In my early years, I probably would’ve just crossed my fingers and hoped I’d remember to check in later. But between listings, negotiations, and putting out fires, I would’ve completely forgotten.
