Our 2025 AHS video reached over 7,000 viewers. This is the update. Alberta has restructured its health system, and the route to permanent residence for healthcare workers has requirements many people miss.

🚨 EXPRESS ENTRY CHANGES NOVEMBER 3, 2026: NO LMIA NEEDED, UP TO 100 CRS POINTS FOR A JOB OFFER

On October 16, 2026, Immigration Minister Lena Metlege Diab announced new Express Entry rules. From November 3, 2026, qualifying job offers in high-wage occupations can earn 50, 70 or 100 CRS points, and they no longer need an LMIA for these points. Canadian work experience in high-wage occupations can also earn 20, 40 or 70 extra points.

⏰ DEADLINE: If you have a job offer, update your Express Entry profile BEFORE November 3.

⚠️ WHAT THE LMIA CHANGE DOES NOT MEAN: It does not abolish LMIAs for work permits. A job offer is not permission to work in Canada. Genuineness checks continue, and fake offers can lead to a five-year ban.

⏸️ DRAWS PAUSED: Invitation rounds pause for up to two weeks after November 3 while IRCC recalculates all scores.

Nurses lose years to one mistake: treating licensing and immigration as a queue instead of two parallel tracks. Licensing is what lets you practise. It is not what gets you PR, and many nurses complete licensing after they already hold permanent residence.

📍 WHERE TO TARGET: Atlantic Canada (NS, NB, PEI, NL) has become one of the most active recruiting regions, with targeted programs for internationally trained nurses plus the employer-driven Atlantic Immigration Program. Ontario has implemented as-of-right registration to speed IENs into the workforce. Rural and remote communities offer the strongest incentives.
🩺 NURSE PRACTITIONERS: As of July 1, 2026, the Canadian Nurse Practitioner Licensure Exam replaced the older stream-specific exams, and NPs outside Quebec are licensed across all client ages and care settings.
