✨ New Language Test for Canadian Immigration ✨
Great news for anyone planning to apply for Canadian permanent residence! 🎉
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will soon begin accepting the TOEFL Essentials test as proof of English language proficiency. While it’s not active yet, IRCC will update their official pages once acceptance begins.
This means that in addition to CELPIP, IELTS, and PTE Core, you’ll soon have another option to demonstrate your English level for economic immigration programs like:
1) Express Entry-managed programs:
* Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
* Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
* Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
2) Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)
3) Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)*
*Note: PNPs are managed by provinces and territories, which may choose whether or not to accept TOEFL Essentials.
👉 About TOEFL Essentials:
Measures listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills through practical, real-life tasks
Duration: ~1.5 hours
Available at secure test centres in Canada and worldwide
Instant unofficial scores for listening & reading; official results in about 6 days.
Stay tuned for IRCC updates on when and where you can take the test.
