After 4.5 amazing years of running Perera Legal Group, last year I’ve made the heartfelt decision to close this chapter. This business has been a labor of love—full of lessons, growth, and unforgettable people.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to every client, community supporter, and friend who believed in this journey with me. Your trust and confidence in our firm meant the world.

Now, I’m beyond excited to share that I’ve stepped into my dream job as Crown Counsel at the Department of Justice Canada. It's a path I’ve dreamed of since being in law school, and I can’t wait to see where it leads.

Not every case will proceed by way of litigation. Sometimes litigation is a must and necessary, but mediation should always be exhausted first absent certain factors (power imbalance, abuse, mental health considerations).

Healthy co-parenting means:
1. Children will live quality lives rather than just managing to cope between two homes to please their parents.
2. Children will learn social responsibility and develop higher self-esteem.
3. Out of conflict zone means children will have the mental space to do well outside of the family because all of their energy is not spent on the family.
4. Parents can also benefit by having more time to focus on their Children and truly enjoy their company rather than bickering with their ex-partner.
5. Children learn to resolve conflicts in a healthy manner by watching their parents tackle parental disagreements.
6. Children are less likely to be forced to choose a side and could develop meaningful relationships with both parents.

As part of the Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association, we are working closely with the Minister to determine if we will see occupation-based draws. This could mean your CRS score could be below the cut-off threshold but because of your employment, you may quality to receive an ITA. I have accountants, marketing executives, nurses, IT professionals, engineers and lawyers waiting in the pool atm. I am hoping to receive more clarity on the direction of the draws going forward. Will update as soon as we have it.

How to apply as an urgent visitor in Canada? Our immigration minister the Honourable Sean Fraser stated that the IRCC is working on implementing new programs in the next coming weeks. Ukrainian nationals were encouraged to apply for the existing streams and request for urgent processing.
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY DOCUMENT THEN AN EXEMPTION SHOULD BE SOUGHT IN THE APPLICATION. The exemption may or may not be granted at the sole discretion of the IRCC processing officer.
