Eight amazing years. One very well-earned bell ring 🔔

At GBC Law, the bell marks big moments – wins, milestones, and chapters worth celebrating. Today, Nancy rang the bell to celebrate her time at GBC and to mark the turning of the final page of this chapter on her last day in the office 🥲

We will all miss her positive energy, legendary baked treats, and unofficial role as our in-office tech whisperer. Over the years, Nancy truly embodied all of GBC’s core values and helped build the culture we’re so proud of today. As she embarks on her new journey with , we wish her the best and look forward to hearing about her successes.

The dogs haven’t been told yet (as Nancy has always been their favourite) … but we promise to break the news gently 🐶

Earlier this week, members of our team participated in another volunteer shift at the Harvest Community Food Bank, an initiative run by the that provides essential groceries and support to local families.

It was a pleasure to connect and get to know the incredible staff who make all of this possible. It was also a reminder that food insecurity is a year-round challenge, and that consistent, collective effort can make a real difference.

Thank you to the Salvation Army team for welcoming us back and for their ongoing commitment to serving the community with dignity and care. It’s humbling to see how much impact comes from simple acts of service, and we’re proud to play a small part in supporting their mission.

With more than 35 years of legal experience, Jeff is one of Vancouver’s most respected entertainment lawyers. From negotiating deals with global media companies like , , , and , to advising Grammy- and Oscar-winning clients, to serving as the first-ever Olympic digital rights lawyer during the 2010 Winter Games, Jeff has built a reputation for providing practical, creative, and deeply informed legal advice.
With Jeff’s experience, we are excited to expand the scope of our services to now include:

🎬 Entertainment Law – supporting creators, producers, performers, and companies across film, television, music, and digital media.

💡 Intellectual Property – protecting and enforcing rights in trademarks and copyrights.

In addition to his practice, Jeff is passionate about sharing his knowledge with the next generation of lawyers and creators. He has taught film law and new media law at and , was the founding head of the Entertainment Business Management Diploma Program at , and currently teaches entertainment law and intellectual property as an Adjunct Professor at Faculty of Law.

Yesterday was Stefano’s last day with us after 8 great years, and of course we had to celebrate his time with us by gifting him with a bell of his own 🔔

We’re so grateful for all of the contributions Stefano has made to the firm and its culture – from his everyday humour to his dedication to clients, he’s definitely left a mark on GBC Law and we’re all lucky to have had the opportunity to work alongside him.

While we’ll miss him dearly, we’re excited to see what his next adventure brings. This isn’t goodbye … just the end of one amazing chapter and the start of another! ✨
