Most people don’t decide to move because the market tells them to.

Usually, it starts a lot more casually than that.

A listing pops up. You send it to your spouse. Then you start wondering what your house might sell for. Then suddenly… you’re paying attention.

Funny how quickly “we’re not moving” can turn into “should we go see it?”

If school proximity matters, check the street when school is actually happening.

Traffic, buses, pickup lines, parking and busy sidewalks can completely change how the area feels.

A second drive-by can tell you a lot.

I’m looking at layout, structure, room sizes, natural light, the lot and how well the major systems have been maintained.

Paint is easy. Structure is not.

One Burlington neighbourhood feature I think people underestimate?
Being able to actually walk somewhere.

Not just “there’s a sidewalk.”

I mean being able to walk the kids to a park, grab a coffee, reach a trail, get to school or run a quick errand without automatically getting in the car.

When you’re comparing two homes, don’t just compare the houses.
Compare what a normal Tuesday looks like in each neighbourhood.
That can matter a lot more than people expect.
