A big shoutout to Max, our Corporate Lawyer and a director at BPAC, who attended last week's Volunteer Appreciation Night - and to everyone who helped make the celebration unforgettable.

We were happy to donate prizes for the event and support the incredible volunteers who give their time, energy, and heart to the Burlington Performing Arts Centre.

With 134 active volunteers and countless hours contributed, the evening was a wonderful reminder of how much community matters. 💛🎉

We’re thrilled to share that Barbara, Adeola, and Vanessa, alongside Mary Dilly of Downsizing Solutions, represented Fieldstone Law at the 'Smashing the Grass Ceiling' event at Piper's Heath Golf Club, hosted by the incredible Fareen Samji.

It was an evening filled with learning, laughter, and connection - to cheering on women trying golf for the first time, and to meeting women-led business owners who are building their dreams one step at a time.

Our team showed up with heart, courage, and community spirit, and we couldn’t be prouder. Thank you to all the sponsors, volunteers, and participants who made the day meaningful.

Here’s to more spaces where women feel welcomed, supported, and celebrated. 💜🏌️‍♀️

This past Sunday, our firm was pleased to participate in the CARP Halton Chapter 50+ Lifestyle Expo at the Burlington Seniors’ Centre. The event brought together adults 50+, seniors, families, and local experts for a day filled with resources, workshops, and community connection.

We appreciated the opportunity to speak with attendees about the legal services that matter most to the senior community - including wills and estates, corporate matters, and real estate transactions.

A big thank‑you to CARP Halton Chapter for organizing such an informative and engaging event. We look forward to continuing to support our community! 🌟

June 15th is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day - a reminder that elder abuse is more common than many people realize, and it often happens quietly, behind closed doors.

At Fieldstone Law, we see firsthand how vulnerable seniors can be when trust is misplaced. Abuse isn’t always physical; it can show up in behaviour, finances, or relationships. Recognizing the signs early and staying connected can make a meaningful difference.

Our latest blog explores what elder abuse looks like, how to spot red flags, and how proper legal planning, including Powers of Attorney, can help protect loved ones from financial exploitation and undue influence.

If you’re concerned about a vulnerable family member or want to learn more about prevention, we’re here to help. 💜💙

What an incredible day at the Burlington Helping Burlington Charity Golf Tournament at the beautiful Mount Nemo Golf Club! ⛳️💙

Barbara had a fantastic time hitting the greens with her husband Tim, our retired colleague Rick, and his wife Brenda. A foursome full of laughs, friendly competition, and great memories.

We were proud to be represented as a hole sponsor this year-community support is at the heart of what we do.

A special shoutout to our Burlington neighbour Mary Dilly of Downsizing Solutions, who generously sponsored the golf carts. Mary is a powerhouse in helping families transition smoothly into their next chapter, and we’re lucky to have her in our community!

And of course, another amazing Burlington neighbour: Fareen Samji of Far Samji-5‑time Canadian Women’s Long Drive Champion, entrepreneur, professional speaker, mentor, and community leader-who sponsored both the Men’s and Women’s Longest Drive. Fareen’s dedication to empowering women and girls through sport and leadership is inspiring, and we loved seeing her support out on the course.

To top it all off, enjoy this hilarious clip of Barbara and Brenda taking on the “blindfolded tee‑off challenge.”

A wonderful day supporting an even more wonderful cause. 💙

Do you really need an estate plan if you don’t have an “estate”? Absolutely.
Estate planning isn’t about wealth - it’s about control, clarity, and protecting the people you love.

Your “estate” is simply everything you own, from your home and bank accounts to personal belongings. Without a plan, provincial laws decide what happens next - not you.

A thoughtful estate plan can:
✔️Ensure your assets go where you want
✔️Reduce stress and conflict for your family
✔️Protect your autonomy if you can’t make decisions
✔️Support your children’s future
✔️Minimize taxes and delays

Whether you’re starting fresh or updating an existing plan, we’re here to help you protect what matters most.
