Feeling grateful after a wonderful few days at the 2026 Family Peacemakers Conference at Blue Mountain.

This annual joint conference between the Ontario Association for Family Mediation and the Ontario Association of Collaborative Professionals brings together people who are deeply committed to helping families navigate conflict in a healthier and more respectful way.

One of the highlights for me was the opportunity to reconnect with many professionals I have known and worked with over the years, while also meeting new colleagues who share the same commitment to constructive family dispute resolution.

These relationships matter.

They are part of what makes Collaborative practice so different. The process is built not only on legal knowledge, but on teamwork, trust, interdisciplinary support, and a shared commitment to helping families move forward with dignity.

I am leaving Blue Mountain feeling inspired, reconnected, and grateful to be part of this professional community.

The IACP Forum is always such a valuable opportunity to learn, reconnect, and be inspired by colleagues who are deeply committed to Collaborative Practice.

The 2026 theme — Collaborative Rising: Elevate Practice, Deepen Connections + Ignite Change — feels especially timely. Our work continues to evolve, and opportunities like this help us grow not only as professionals, but as a community.

Registration opens May 15. Looking forward to seeing who else will be attending!

Two weeks after our Collaborative retreat in Costa Mujeres, Mexico, I am still reflecting on the meaningful conversations, shared learning, laughter, and connection. It was a beautiful reminder that Collaborative practice is strengthened not only by skill, but by community, trust, and relationships. Grateful to have been part of such a wonderful experience.

Feeling incredibly grateful as this beautiful Sunny Destination Collaborative Retreat comes to a close.

What a gift it has been to spend this time with such thoughtful, bright, generous, and fun colleagues who truly feel like friends. We learned together, laughed together, reflected together, and made space for both professional growth and genuine connection.

The workshops were exceptional and so generously shared by members of the group — from personal growth, resilience, and managing stress, to uncovering hidden income, AI in the workplace, energy and focus habits, Collaborative estate planning, and family violence education. So much wisdom, insight, and heart in one room.

Experiences like this are a reminder of how much we gain when we step away from the busyness of practice and simply learn from one another.

I’m coming home with a full heart and so much appreciation for this special group.

Grateful to have shared this Collaborative retreat with such an inspiring group of colleagues.

Over the course of our time together, we learned from one another through thoughtful and generous presentations on topics that truly matter in our work and in our lives: personal growth, resilience, stress management, uncovering hidden income in Collaborative files, AI in the workplace, energy and focus habits for high-performing professionals, Collaborative estate planning, and family violence education.

A heartfelt thank you to Camila, Cynthia, Vicki, David, Kanata, Rui and everyone who contributed their insight, experience, and openness to the conversation. I was also grateful to co-present with Rui on AI in the workplace and to be part of such an engaged and interactive professional development experience.

Time away like this is about more than learning. It is about connection, reflection, renewed energy, and returning to our work with fresh perspective.

I am leaving this retreat feeling grateful, recharged, and reminded of the value of community in Collaborative practice.
