IRCC processing delays can make your PR journey more stressful than expected. If you’ve received an Invitation to Apply (ITA), here are 3 important things to keep in mind:

✅ 1. Understand Your Processing Timeline
The six-month processing target generally starts after IRCC receives your complete PR application, not when you receive your ITA.

✅ 2. Avoid an Incomplete Application
If your application fails the completeness check, it may be returned, putting you back in the Express Entry pool and leaving you waiting for another ITA.

✅ 3. Plan Your Work Permit Early
If your current work permit may expire while your PR application is processing, check whether you qualify for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) and apply at the appropriate time.

DM us “ITA” along with your work permit expiry date. NNC Immigration can help you understand your next steps.

Your partner is in Canada, but is inland spousal sponsorship the right choice?

A genuine relationship doesn’t automatically mean you qualify for the inland category. Cohabitation matters, and choosing the wrong pathway can lead to a Procedural Fairness Letter (PFL).

Ontario PNP has changed and if you’re relying on Ontario to secure your PR, you need to understand the new Workforce Priority Stream. 🇨🇦

While Tier 0–5 occupations may be eligible, that doesn’t mean every occupation will receive an invitation. Ontario has historically been selective based on occupation, region, and candidate profile, with priorities often focused on sectors like healthcare, education, skilled trades, and candidates outside the GTA.

The program structure may have changed, but Ontario’s priorities and labour-market needs still matter.

If Ontario PNP is part of your PR strategy, make sure you’re targeting the right stream, not simply waiting for a draw.

If you need help assessing your options, reach out to NNC Immigration for a personalized assessment.
