The procedure by which a couple decides to end their marriage or relationship. One of the reasons for divorce is separation. The parties may file for divorce during the one-year separation period, but it will not be finalised until the year has gone. In most circumstances, the parties will settle all of their issues, including custody, access, child and/or spousal support, and equalisation of net family property, through a Separation Agreement, allowing them to get an uncontested divorce.

A Power of Attorney is a legal document that gives someone else the power to act on your behalf. This person is called your "attorney". In Canada the word "attorney" usually does not mean lawyer, as it does in the USA.

We meet with you to obtain your instructions, provide legal advice and answer questions. A second meeting with you is held to review and execute these documents. We also prepare Affidavits of Ex*****on and attend to have them signed and commissioned

An agreement signed by the parties outlining their assets and debts on the date of marriage and allowing them to keep or change the Ontario Family Law Act's property division plan in the event of a divorce. Unlike a Prenuptial Agreement, a Marriage Contract can be completed after the marriage has taken place. A marriage contract can also be utilised to help in estate planning.

A divorce is the legal dissolution of a marriage authorized by the Superior Court of Justice. The case is started by filing an application with the court and serving it on the opposing party. Negotiating a Separation Agreement and then proceeding with the divorce on an uncontested basis is the most cost-effective way to accomplish a divorce.

Mortgages and Refinacing: Includes conducting a title search and other required investigations as directed by the mortgage company, obtaining title insurance, reading mortgage instructions, and preparing documents for you to review and sign. Receiving mortgage monies, searching executions, registering the mortgage, paying out existing encumbrances, and registering discharges, as well as reporting to you and the mortgage firm.
