There’s a moment in life you never forget…
the moment someone you care about needs blood and you realize there’s nothing you can do except hope a stranger showed up.

That moment changed me.
It’s the reason today became my 38th donation… and the reason I keep going back.

We don’t think about blood donation until it touches our family, our friends, our people.
But when it does? Everything shifts.

I had the honour of joining Nathalie Blais, CEO of Coach Academy Global for a conversation about leadership, curiosity, and the small shifts that create big change.

Most people know me first as a Real Estate Broker in Belleville, ON 🇨🇦 and real estate will always be at the centre of what I do. At its heart, this business is about helping people, guiding them, and communicating clearly during the biggest decisions of their lives.

That’s exactly why I leaned into coaching.

Coaching has changed the way I show up with clients, with my community, and most importantly, in my love relationship ❤️.

It taught me to slow down and ask questions before assuming.
To understand what someone really means before reacting.
To stay curious, because the same word can mean something completely different to someone else.

That shift has transformed the way I listen, the way I connect, and the way I lead.

It’s also why I created inch2.ca a space for people who want clarity, direction, or someone to help them explore the next inch forward.

We spend our whole lives being trained to speak.
Public speaking… presentations… leadership workshops…
All about using our voice.

But no one had ever taught me how to listen.

Not formally.
Not intentionally.

And I didn’t realize how untrained I was
until I joined Coach Academy .global

For the first time, I was being taught to listen with presence, curiosity, patience, and openness.

During that journey, the book “You’re Not Listening” by Kate Murphy was introduced…
and it opened my eyes to inches I didn’t even know I was missing.

And the biggest transformation?

Not in business.
Not in coaching.
Not even in parenting — although that shifted too.

It was with the woman I love.
The woman of my life ❤️.

Learning to truly listen changed how I show up with her, how I understand her, connect with her, and hold space instead of reacting or assuming.

It changed our conversations.
It changed the way I love ❤️

And that ripple made me a better father…
a better broker for my clients…
a better human in my community.

But she is the first place I felt the impact.
The deepest place.
The place that mattered most.

I recommend this book to everyone, even if you think you’re already a great listener 👂. Especially then.

Listening isn’t passive.
It’s connection.
It’s compassion.
It’s how relationships grow deeper, stronger, and more honest.

This shift changed me as a man.
And I’m still learning… one curious inch at a time.
