Today August 28th, 2026, our team at D.A. Commissioning and Legal Services join millions around the world in mourning the passing of Dolly Parton, a remarkable woman whose voice, grace, humility, and generosity touched generations.

Dolly was more than a music legend. She was a symbol of kindness, resilience, faith, compassion, and the power of using one’s platform to lift others.

Dolly was a voice for working-class women and an icon for humanity. Her legacy reminds us that true greatness is not measured only by success, but by the lives we touch and the hope we leave behind.

On behalf of D.A. Commissioning and Legal Services, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, fans, and all who were inspired by her extraordinary life.

May her soul rest in peace, and may her light continue to shine through the countless hearts she blessed.

Human rights and employment law intersect in many important ways in the workplace. Every employer has a responsibility to create and maintain a workplace that is fair, respectful, inclusive, and free from discrimination, harassment, reprisal, and unfair treatment.

This includes making decisions about hiring, discipline, accommodation, scheduling, promotion, workplace policies, and termination in a manner that respects the dignity and legal rights of employees.

For employers, understanding this intersection helps reduce legal risk, improve workplace culture, and ensure that employment decisions are based on legitimate business needs rather than bias, stereotypes, or prohibited grounds of discrimination.

Employers must also take workplace complaints seriously, respond promptly, document decisions properly, and accommodate employees where required, up to the point of undue hardship.

For employees, this area of law helps protect the right to be treated fairly at work. Employees should understand that they may have legal protections when facing discrimination, harassment, disability-related barriers, pregnancy or family-status concerns, reprisal for raising workplace issues, or unequal treatment connected to protected human rights grounds.

A productive workplace is not built by policy alone. It is built through fairness, communication, accountability, and respect for the rights and obligations of both employers and employees.

Today, we celebrate not only the fathers among our clients, colleagues, and community members, but also the lasting legacy of fatherhood itself; a legacy built upon love, responsibility, integrity, and commitment.

Fatherhood is more than a title; it is a lifelong commitment to protecting, teaching, encouraging, and leading by example.

Fathers play a vital role in helping children develop confidence, character, resilience, and a sense of purpose.

Their influence extends far beyond the home and contributes to the success of future generations.

At D.A. Commissioning & Legal Services, we recognize the countless fathers who work tirelessly every day to provide for their families, support their loved ones, and build better futures for their children.

We also acknowledge those fathers who may be facing challenges and continue to persevere with courage and determination.

On behalf of everyone at D.A. Commissioning & Legal Services, we extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all fathers and father figures.

Happy Father's Day!

May your day be filled with love, joy, appreciation, and the company of those who matter most.

Cheers

Employers and Employees: Before you sign the Employment Contract, have you checked for the following?

While oral and implied contracts exist under common law, written employment agreements are highly recommended to provide clarity and prevent costly legal disputes.

🏠 Landlords and Tenants: Understanding the N12 Eviction Process in Ontario

An N12 Notice allows a landlord to end a tenancy if the landlord, their immediate family member, or a caregiver genuinely intends to move into the rental unit.

Important points for landlords and tenants:

✔ The notice must provide at least 60 days’ notice.

✔ The termination date must fall on the last day of a rental period.

✔ The landlord must compensate the tenant with one month’s rent or offer another acceptable rental unit.

✔ Tenants have the right to dispute an N12 they believe was issued in bad faith through the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB).

✔ A landlord cannot evict a tenant without an LTB Order if the tenant refuses to move out.

Bad-faith N12 notices can lead to significant penalties and compensation awards. Always seek legal advice when navigating the legal process.

Today, we pause to recognize and celebrate the women whose strength, sacrifice, and unwavering love shape not only our families but the very foundation of our communities.

Motherhood is not simply a role; it is a lifelong commitment defined by resilience, patience, and quiet acts of courage that often go unseen.

It is the early mornings, the late nights, the guidance offered in difficult moments, and the constant presence that gives others the confidence to grow.

At D.A. Commissioning & Legal Services, we see firsthand the impact of mothers in every area of life as caregivers, professionals, leaders, and advocates.

Many of the clients we serve draw their strength from the values instilled by the mothers in their lives: integrity, perseverance, and compassion.

To the mothers in our community, including those within our own team, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your contributions shape families, guide futures, and strengthen the society we all depend on.

As a firm grounded in service, justice, and community, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting families, protecting rights, and contributing to a society where every mother is valued, respected, and supported.

As a firm, we remain committed to supporting families, protecting rights, and advocating for fairness, which are values that reflect the very spirit of motherhood itself.

Today, and every day, we say thank you and Happy Mother’s Day.

Esteemed followers: Yesterday, our firm had the distinct honour of attending the 2026 Barrie Campus Graduation at Casino Rama to celebrate the graduating students of CTS Canadian Career College and Modern College of Hairstyling & Esthetics.

The event was held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in recognition of the Class of 2025/2026 and the remarkable journeys these graduates are now beginning in our communities.

During that wonderful evening, our team was deeply humbled to be presented with the 2025–2026 Preceptor of the Year Award.

To receive this recognition during our firm’s 10th year of legal practice is profoundly meaningful. To have also received the 2024–2025 award in the same category at last year’s graduation makes this moment even more extraordinary.

We accept this award with sincere gratitude, humility, and a renewed sense of responsibility.

At D.A. Commissioning & Legal Services, we have always believed that student success is not achieved by instruction alone. It is strengthened by mentorship, encouragement, exposure to real-world practice, and a genuine willingness to help emerging professionals develop confidence in their abilities.

That is why supporting students has remained an important part of our work and our values.

This recognition means a great deal to our team because it reflects something we care deeply about: helping students bridge the gap between education and practice, and ensuring that those entering their professions feel seen, supported, and empowered.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to CTS Canadian Career College for this honour, and for continuing to create opportunities that celebrate achievement, discipline, and professional growth. We also congratulate all members of the graduating class.

Your commitment, sacrifice, and perseverance have brought you to this important milestone, and you deserve to be celebrated.
Our firm remains fully committed to continuing this work.

We will continue to support students, mentor future professionals, and contribute meaningfully to the development of those preparing to serve our communities with skill and integrity.

To the students of today and the professionals of tomorrow: keep pressing forward. Your future is bright, your efforts matter, and your success is worth investing in.

From all of us at D.A. Commissioning & Legal Services, thank you for this remarkable honour. We receive it with gratitude, and we pledge our continued commitment to student success for many years to come.
