What an incredible rush of positivity, goodwill and gratitude at last night’s October 2026 Junior Green Thumbs Classroom Garden Giveaway!
9 inspired educators. 9 new classroom gardens. Hundreds of young minds about to grow. 🌱
At its heart, Junior Green Thumbs is an expression of my gratitude for teachers and my belief that we all have the power to create BIG change through small, bold actions. For every house I sell, I donate a fully equipped indoor garden to a teacher on the JGT waitlist.
What began as a simple hands on pilot project in my son’s grade 4 classroom 11 years ago, has grown into something with an extraordinary impact on the communities I’m privileged to serve. And, truthfully, it has given just as much back to me.
It keeps my energy elevated, my perspective optimistic and gives me an excuse to nerd out on horticulture and neural development with people whose eyes don’t glaze over! lol
As we “REV up” for our 12th year, I want to thank every teacher, administrator, friend and follower who has shared this initiative, championed a classroom or encouraged an educator to get involved. To my family, who have graciously tolerated the occasional chaos and mess that comes with it, thank you too!
