Liberty Law Corporation is looking for an Administrative Assistant-Accounts on full time or part time basis. Minimum Education: At least one-year post-secondary education, certificate or diploma in accounting or bookkeeping is preferred. 6-12 months of work experience in similar position is preferred. This position includes the following duties:

· Open clients’ files in accounting system.

· Adding all the trust account and general account entries.

· Prepare invoices, and collect payments;

· Prepare account payable cheques;

· Do bank runs for deposits;

· Prepare accounting reports as required;

· Assist firm’s accountant and bookkeeper

· Keep track of Trust Administration Fee payments;

· Perform routine administrative functions, such as photocopying, sorting files and documents, filing, and preparing various correspondences.

· Provide administrative support to lawyers and legal assistants;

· Collect appropriate information and documents from clients;

· Maintain and organize office records and files;

· Set up or organize meetings
Perform other related duties

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent (20-40 hours per week)

· Assist firm’s accountant in the year end tax filling;

· Assist in bank reconciliations;

· Keep track of Trust Administration Fee payments;

· Check company calendar and ensure that all deadlines are added;

· Perform routine administrative functions, such as photocopying, sorting files and documents; filing, and preparing various correspondences;

· Provide administrative support with clients’ files to lawyers and legal assistants;

· Review documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures;

· Collect appropriate information and documents from clients;

· Maintain and organize office records and files;

· Set up or organize meetings.

Salary: $41,000.00-$47,800.00 per year

On December 14, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will begin accepting applications for permanent residence from refugee claimants who work in Canada’s health-care sector and provide direct care to patients.
To qualify, individuals must meet all of the following criteria:
- have claimed asylum before March 13, 2020
- were issued a work permit after they made a claim for asylum
- have worked in the health-care sector, in health institutions (for --example, hospitals, long-term care homes, home care through an organization or agency, assisted living facilities)
- have worked in a designated occupation for no less than 120 hours between March 13, 2020 and August 14, 2020. The designated occupations that are included in this special measure are orderlies, nurses, nurses’ aides and patient service associates, assistant orderlies and certain home support workers.
- demonstrate 6 months of experience in the designated occupation before being granted permanent residence. Applicants will have until August 31, 2021 to acquire this experience.
- have a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ), if wishing to reside in Quebec
- meet existing admissibility requirements, including those related to criminality, security and health, etc.
