Strong European cooperation is fundamental to building high-quality training for prosecutors at European level.
On 7-8 May, the 17th Conference of the Network of Public Prosecutors or Equivalent Institutions at the Supreme Judicial Courts of the Member States of the European Union (NADAL Network) took place in Brussels.
This year’s conference, marking 20 years since the network’s creation, was dedicated to the Rule of Law, a core principle to which European prosecutors actively contributed. During the event, a declaration on the role of prosecution services in safeguarding the Rule of Law was adopted, and the founder of the network, former French Prosecutor General Jean Louis Nadal, was awarded the NADAL Prize.
EJTN Secretary General, Judge Ingrid Derveaux, contributed to this prestigious conference by highlighting the role of EJTN as a key coordinator of judicial training in Europe, including several training initiatives and topics relevant to European prosecutors, regardless of their Member State.
Building on 25 years of experience, and as a long-standing partner of the NADAL Network formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2015, EJTN plays a key role in addressing training needs of direct relevance to European prosecutors. This cooperation strengthens dialogue and information exchange between the two networks and supports the development of targeted judicial training at EU level.
