🚨 Important updates for international travelers | ETIAS and EES Regulations are coming soon and will be implemented in 2024 & 2025! 🌍 ✈️

Planning to visit Europe in the coming years 👉🏼 two major changes: the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) and the Entry/Exit System (EES). These new regulations are set to enhance border security and streamline travel to and from the Schengen Area.

🔍 What is ETIAS? (start 2025): ETIAS will be a mandatory electronic travel authorization for citizens from over 60 visa-exempt countries, including the USA, Canada, and Australia, who wish to enter the Schengen Area.

📝 Key Points: Citizens from visa-exempt countries must apply online before traveling.
Online & fast application based on personal passport, and social security information.
Cost & Validity: Expected fee around €7, valid for 3 years or until passport expiry date.
When to Apply: At least 96 hours before your trip, though most applications will be approved instantly.

🔐 What is EES? (Fall 2024): EES is a new electronic system designed to register non-EU nationals each time they cross an EU external border and will replace the basic passport stamping. It will track entry, exit, and any refusals at the borders.

📝 Key Points: What EES Does: Digitally records personal and travel information, including entry and exit dates. Who is Affected: All non-EU citizens, including those traveling with visas and those visa-exempt under ETIAS. Impact: Reduces wait times, eliminates the need for passport stamps, and helps identify overstayers more efficiently ‼️

💼 Why These Changes Matter: Both ETIAS and EES are part of Europe’s broader strategy to enhance border management and security. While they add new steps for travelers, these systems will streamline processes, improve safety, and offer more efficient border crossings.
