Call for Volunteers

The Society for Justice & AI (SJAI) invites volunteers for its five-day Summer School on AI Governance in Dhaka.

This interdisciplinary programme will convene senior participants and leaders from government, law, academia, technology, industry, and civil society to discuss AI governance in Bangladesh and South Asia.

Volunteers will collaborate with the SJAI team, engage with leading experts and senior practitioners, gain hands-on experience in policy programme delivery, and contribute to discussions on AI governance.

Volunteer roles (approximately 2 per category; 10–12 positions in total):

1. Programme & Logistics: registration, room setup, scheduling, materials, and session coordination.
2. Speaker & VIP Support: speaker liaison, documentation, arrival coordination, and on-site assistance.
3. Participant Support: check-in, attendance records, seating, and participant queries.
4. Documentation & Research: session notes, key takeaways, speaker research, and summary reports.
5. Communications & Content: programme updates, session highlights, and content for official channels.

Availability: Selected volunteers are required to attend the full programme from 29 August to 2 September, along with preparatory sessions before the event. Full participation is mandatory.

We welcome applications from students, recent graduates, and professionals in relevant fields. Academic enrolment is not required. We value reliability, organisation, initiative, and a genuine interest in AI governance or related areas.

πŸ’–Bangladesh at a uniquely beautiful and strategic crossroads. We do not have to blindly replicate failing legacy systems. We have the rare luxury to audit the global landscape: we can clearly evaluate which technological frameworks succeeded, analyze which governance policies failed, and choose our path wisely. πŸ‡§πŸ‡©

We cannot let the future of our digital legal landscape be coded without the input of diverse, interdisciplinary advocates. It is time to move past passive observation and build actionable regulatory tools.
