Australia's partner visa has provisions for exactly this: if your relationship was genuine before it ended, and you or a dependant experienced family violence by your sponsor, you may still be granted the permanent visa — without needing your sponsor's cooperation.

You don't need a police report or a conviction. A court document is enough on its own; otherwise, two documents from professionals in different categories (for example, a medical practitioner and a family violence service) plus a statutory declaration can be enough.
