QS 2025 World University Rankings: University of Melbourne Ranked First in Australia
QS has released the 2025 World University Rankings, with nine Australian universities in the top 100 globally. This year, the top three Australian universities remain:
University of Melbourne (13th, up 1 place)
University of Sydney (18th, up 1 place)
University of New South Wales (19th, unchanged)
Additionally, the following three universities remain in the top 50:
Australian National University (30th, up 4 places)
Monash University (37th, up 5 places)
University of Queensland (40th, up 3 places)
The rankings of the remaining three universities have seen slight changes:
University of Western Australia (77th, down 5 places)
University of Adelaide (82nd, up 7 places)
University of Technology Sydney (88th, up 2 places)
This year, except for the University of Western Australia, all other Australian universities have seen significant rises in their rankings. The University of Melbourne has reached its highest position in 12 years, ranking 13th globally, while the University of Adelaide has also reached a new high, climbing seven places to 82nd.
