The International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination is a day celebrated to commemorate the declassification of homosexuality as a mental disorder. While the International Day Against LGBTQIA+Discrimination is on the 17th of May, the week surrounding it is often treated as an opportunity to educate and raise awareness for the LGBTQIA+ community. This celebration and uplifting of the q***r community is a way of de-stigmatising love and gender identities of all kinds. Showing support for the community is as easy as putting on a rainbow.

This week the UOWLSS will be posting every day to play a small part in supporting the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination. 💗🏳️‍🌈✨🏳️‍⚧️

The UOW Senior Moot has concluded!

The competing teams were presented with a challenging criminal law scenario to advocate for, and the standard of competition was exceptional.

Oliver Primrose and Thomas Gazard won their first moot displaying both exceptional advocacy skills and a deep understanding of the criminal law.

The runners up Jarrod Dominish and Brayden Henniker did however make Abby Bojanic’s job as the judge difficult, as the final was incredibly competitive.

We would like to thank Abby for not only letting us borrow her expertise, but also for staying longer to give competitors deep and valuable feedback for their future competitions and careers.

Congratulations Oliver and Thomas!

The Senior Moot has finished!

This year, teams were tasked with advocating a challenging criminal law matter. Both teams advocated to a very high standard, putting on an incredible finals performance.

Oliver Primrose and Thomas Gazard came out victorious, winning their first moot as a team. However, the eventual runners up Jarrod Dominish and Brayden Henniker posed a significant challenge, leaving Abby Bojanic a difficult decision as the judge.

We thank Abby for judging, because not only did she do an incredible job during the event, but she also stayed back late to give both teams extensive feedback on how they can improve.

Congratulations Oliver and Thomas!
