A few weeks on from opening, it’s been fantastic to see Murphy’s in Cairns come to life, with locals already embracing its fresh new look and authentic Irish atmosphere.

Working alongside our long-term client, Australian Venue Co., the Core4 team transformed the venue from the ground up, delivering the build from a complete strip-out to the finished product.

The standout feature has to be the stunning timber joinery that flows throughout the bars and walls, bringing warmth and character to every space. Outside, the transformation is just as impressive, with a bold new façade, unmistakable Irish charm, and, of course, the iconic Guinness Harp taking pride of place.

We’re proud to have played a part in creating a venue that’s already becoming a favourite for the Cairns community.

Another away job. Another tough refurb. Another pretty unreal office for the week 🍻☀️

The Jubilee Tavern in Airlie Beach is getting a fresh new look, delivered in collaboration with our long-term partners at Australian Venue Co.

The challenge?
Keep the venue trading while delivering a full refurbishment. And because we like to keep things interesting… we pulled off our standard 3-day gaming room shutdown and transformed it into a fully refurbished space ready to reopen fast 🎰⚡

Good planning. Good tradesmen. Good clients. That’s how projects like this get done.

And no, we didn’t come for a holiday.

Behind that fencing is a full strip-out in progress… and what used to be an arcade-inspired hotel is getting a proper glow-up into a busy Irish pub.

Blank canvas. Big plans. Zero chill.

Last Thursday afternoon we swapped the tools for bowls and took some time out for our annual Core4 barefoot bowls afternoon.

It’s a chance for the team to step away from site, catch up, and (try to) show off some bowling skills. Some took it seriously…. others not so much. Either way there were plenty of laughs and good competition all round.

More importantly. it’s time spent building the relationships that carry through into how we work together every day. Strong teams don’t just happen on site - they’re built off it too.

This project marks the internationally awarded cocktail bar’s first step onto the global stage, bringing its world-class standards and unmistakable style to Brisbane. From bespoke joinery and refined finishes to high-performance bar upgrades, every detail was designed for operational excellence.

Fast-tracked and delivered ahead of Christmas, the venue is now setting a new benchmark for premium cocktail experiences.

Back for 2026 — and ready to go

As we return to work on 5 January, we’re taking a moment to reflect on a great holiday break and an even better year just gone. The Christmas period gave us the chance to slow down, spend time with family and friends, and recharge for what’s ahead.

2025 was a big year for Core4. We delivered strong outcomes, grew our team, and supported our clients across Australia and New Zealand. None of it happened by chance. It was the result of commitment, teamwork, and people showing up every day to do the job properly.

Looking ahead, we’ve set lofty goals for the year to come. We’ll only achieve them with the continued dedication of our clients, staff, and contractors, all working together with a shared focus on service excellence and responsibility.

Here’s to a safe, focused, and successful year ahead. We’re ready.
