Nowadays, many students are showing greater interest in pursuing the Certificate III in Carpentry compared to other trade courses. As a result, there has been a significant increase in the number of EOIs submitted for the Carpenter occupation.

According to SkillSelect data accessed on 29/05/2026, there were 1,192 EOIs submitted for the Carpenter occupation at 65 points in the month of 04/2026. In comparison, the Wall and Floor Tiler occupation had only 163 EOIs submitted at the same points level.

This means the number of EOIs in the Carpenter occupation is more than 7 times higher than the Wall and Floor Tiler occupation.
