Someone missed out big time on their inheritance.

We have administered more estates than we can recall, but the ones that really stick out are where we discover assets the family didn’t know about.

Fair to say we’ve never had 9 million euro in gold bars found but we’ve discovered gold coins hidden in hollowed out door panels, old banknotes (sometimes rotten and wet) buried in backyards and offshore share trading accounts worth real money.

It happens more often than you might think - and we are wrestling more and more with big digital assets that are devilishly tricky to access.

Don’t be the one to get cursed from beyond the grave - document them. Keep a record, note down the combination to the safe, list those passwords and make a plan for how to find the hidden cash and crypto.

Or one day it might be your old house hitting the news like a lost Viking treasure trove.

It's not often when talking about inheritance disputes you also talk about clients from opposing sides ending with a handshake or hug ... but when you explore different ways of resolving disputes anything is possible.
