What is Elder Law…..

A lot of people think Elder law relates only to elder abuse.

Sadly, yes this arises and we will strongly advocate for any elderly person being abused or taken advantage of.

However, Elder Law is an umbrella ☂️ that covers the following types of legal matters that may arise for you or a loved one:

- ACCOMMODATION e.g. advice about staying in your own home, reverse mortgages, downsizing, granny flat options, retirement village living, manufactured home park living or aged care living

- DELEGATED DECISION MAKING POWERS e.g. Powers of Attorneys & Advance Health Directives

- WHEN ITS TO LATE TO APPOINT A DECISION MAKER e.g. applying to QCAT because cognitive capacity is lacking for a person
