What does an Executor actually do?
When preparing a Will, one of the most important decisions you'll make is choosing your Executor, the person responsible for managing your estate and carrying out your wishes after you pass away.
Many people are surprised by the level of responsibility involved. Depending on the circumstances, an Executor may need to apply for probate, identify and manage assets, pay debts and liabilities, communicate with beneficiaries and distribute the estate according to the terms of the Will.
Administering an estate can be a complex and emotional process, particularly during a difficult time for families. Having the right legal guidance can help ensure everything is handled correctly and efficiently.
