This morning, I was finally admitted into the legal profession in the Supreme Court of Queensland in Brisbane. It has been a long journey, from commencing my studies in law at Griffith University in 2019, completing my PLT with Leo Cussen Centre for Law in 2022, my professional placements at Metro North Legal Services and volunteering at Caxton Legal Centre.

I had put going ahead with my application for admission on hold in order to focus on putting together my research proposal for PhD in mental health law, which I commenced at the beginning of this year at QUT. Having completed my first 3-month milestone documents for my PhD, I felt it was time to focus again on putting together my application. I was grateful for the support of the mentors at Leo Cussen, to those individuals who were willing to provide my character references, as well as Ben Cohen from Bartley Cohen who provided assistance with getting my application across the line.

I am grateful to completed this stage of my journey, and look forward to seeing what the future holds in my career.

How are things going? Are you planning to study over summer? I know many people don't, but thought I might as well ask, as I'm still available over summer for tutoring in most law courses (especially the core ones, but also open to support with electives).

Feel free to reach out either on this page or by email. My contact details are on my webpage/blog too, https://pidgethink.net

A short essay written as part of my Graduate Certificate in Forensic Psychology about methods for reducing recidivism. Original got 41/50, but I made a few short edits based on feedback, primarily including more details of some of the studies and statistical results:

This short essay was written in partial completion of the “Understanding Victims and Offenders” course, offered online as one of four courses in the Graduate Certificate in Forensic Psy…

A message to all the law students I’ve been tutoring who may be facing their exams now or over the next few weeks… and of course, for all our University students everywhere with exams.

I have been brought on board with Australian Law Tutor as a tutor for Australia-wide tutoring online for law students. It's an exciting opportunity to expand the reach of my opportunities to offer high-quality tutoring, which is something that I've been doing for a few years now, firstly through Vygo and then under my own Pidgethink brand.

Second to last day on workplace placement at Metro North Legal Services

31/03/2022

Recently I’m commenced by workplace placement for Practical Legal Training (PLT) as part of qualifying for a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice as an important step towards being admitted as a lawyer.

I am at Metro North Legal Services on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at least until early May.

I also have recently added several scheduled tutoring appointments on Thursday from 12-2 and Sunday 10-11am on campus at Griffith University Nathan Campus and Thursday 3-4pm and Saturday 11am-12pm online appointments conducted over Microsoft Teams.

So, generally my availability currently includes Mondays, parts of Thursday and Friday. I can also do tutoring sessions on the weekends if that suits your schedule.

Looking forward to supporting your legal studies.
