Important changes are coming to the conveyancing industry from 1 July 2026, with new Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) requirements affecting property transactions across Australia.

If you're buying, selling or investing in property, this may mean additional identity verification, source of funds checks and compliance steps throughout the conveyancing process.

While these changes may add a few extra steps, they are designed to strengthen protections against fraud and financial crime within the property industry.

Settlement day is exciting, but before the keys change hands, there is one very important step still to complete: the pre-settlement inspection.

This final inspection allows buyers to check that the property is in substantially the same condition as when the contract was signed, including any agreed inclusions or repairs.

✔ Agreed repairs have been completed
✔ Appliances, lights and air conditioning are working
