We are seeking a Junior Solicitor and a Paralegal to join our Brisbane, Ipswich or Toowoomba practices.

This is an exceptional opportunity for two progressive individuals to develop their experience in Family Law.

Here at Guy Sara & Associates, we are committed to providing excellent service to our clients, and we are looking for candidates to join our team, who are equally passionate about providing the same level of service.

The successful candidates will be required to:

· Draft family law affidavits and pleadings;
· Provide clear and concise communication, both verbal and written (legal letter drafting);
· Have strong organisational and time management skills, including an eye for detail;
· Have the ability to prioritise and meet work deadlines;
· Work under supervision and independently;
· Accurately update our internal practice software (Actionstep);
· Be proficient with administration functions and other ad-hoc legal tasks;
· Attend mentions in a number of different courts;

Experience in Legal Aid is advantageous but not essential and you must be the holder of a current driver’s license.

As a newly admitted Solicitor (or soon to be admitted), you will be required to attend court mentions for both Family and Criminal Law matters.

In addition, to operate successfully in this role, you will also be required to:

• Attend family dispute conferences;
• Provide clear and concise communication, both verbal and written (legal letter drafting);
• Have strong organisational and time management skills, including an eye for detail;
• Have the ability to prioritise and meet work deadlines;
• Work under supervision and independently;
• Accurately update our internal practice software (Actionstep);
• Be proficient with administration functions and other ad-hoc legal secretary tasks;
• Attend mentions in a number of different courts;
• Conduct sentences, if required.

We have some exciting news to share with you! Our Principal Mr Guy Sara has recently been accepted into a funded Doctorate PhD, researching comparative studies between drug rehabilitation measures in Singapore and Australian prison systems.

The research topic: Why the Singapore Prison Service (SPS) is more successful at addressing drug related recidivism than the QLD Prison System (QPS) from a restorative justice perspective.

This important information, he will be researching, will most likely be implemented in our Australian prison system.
